    wifi sites


    my daughters laptop has a list of possible connections when i hover on the globe, all are checked connect automatically, i uncheck them, one at a time, go back and they are all checked again to connect automatically, she has windows 10, spectrum wifi, how to delete them from automatically connect

    I believe, based on trying it out on my computers, that what you have reported is normal behaviour and is of no significance.

    The 'Connect automatically' setting would only take effect if you had connected to a network.
    It is, in effect, being offered to you but you do not have to accept it.

    I wouldn't worry about it. They won't try to connect unless you click Connect - and then they will fail unless you know and can type in the WiFi password for that particular connection.

    The automatic connection only takes place if you have previously successfully connected to that network using the correct key. That creates a WiFi profile for that particular connection which by default will connect automatically. I have one such profile for when I visit my daughter, for example. You can disable automatic connection individually for each WiFi profile you have created, or delete the profile if you don't want it any more.
