And if you have windows 10 on both machines you can enable GPU rendering on the RDP host and use the remote GPU to render images, that would certainly be something I try on on a setup like that.

Enabling GPU Rendering for Microsoft Remote Desktop -

I have a Meade LX200EMC and I use a DB9 extender directly on my computer and an LPI-G Lens camera and don't need a second computer to control the telescope.
A bit of bad news regarding the GPU rendering...

    From Microsoft:

"Because of security concerns, RemoteFX vGPU is disabled by default on all versions of Windows starting with the July 14, 2020 Security Update and removed starting with the April 13, 2021 Security Update. To learn more, see KB 4570006"

I'll have to look that up thanks.
Have downloaded the two pieces of software for VNC - its asked for 2 different passwords is this really going to work without passwords?
I use RealVNC version 4. When you set up a target host you can:
    (a) specify a password that must be used when connecting from another PC
    or
    (b) specify that no password is needed.

At the connecting side, after you've connected to a target you can "save" that connection in a file. Next time just click on that file to connect. You can even save the required password in that file. That way the target is still password protected, but you can connect without being prompted for a password.

There are many different "brands" of VNC. And each has gone through many versions. Some newer ones route your connection through their server. That's great when connecting to a target not on your local network. But I wouldn't trust them with my activity.

That's why I stay with RealVNC version 4. It's old, but it works perfectly. And it's purely local and private.

OK I'll give this a go0 I did download REALVNC yesterday and it seemed messy with needing two different bits of software and 2 passwords. Will give it a go one day the suns not shining as a lovely day here in N Yorkshire.
