Trying to map USB drives to new Asus RT-AC67P router

Like it says, I can't get the two USB drives to share on my win 10 pro box with this router. The router shows both drives but they don't show up in the network box and don't show up when I Try to manually enter the IP address and name of the drives.
I had both drives working fine with my Dlink 868 router but a bunch of people moved in next door and their wifi routers kept knocking it offline so I upgraded to the Asus and now can't share anymore. I must be missing a setting somewhere or something needs to be reset or added I guess.
    OS:Win10 Pro 64 21H1 19043.1165

    CPU:Ryzen 3900x
    Motherboard:ROG Strix X570-E Gaming
    Memory:32 gig 3200 PC4
I'm tempted to just hook up the old router just to share the drives with and not hook it to the net except to go into my big switch.
    Thanks for any help.

    Found the problem

Ok, finally played with the router settings some more. When everything is set to default settings I could share individual folders but not the complete drives under its own drive letter so you can browse all the drives folders. I went back into Samba share and set it to allow anonymous login and now I can share the complete drive with
a individual drive letter like all the normal drives plugged into the board. I don't know if that's the normal way network shares are supposed to work but that's how it works with this Asus router. It complains I should enable password protected sharing but I tried that once the drives were added and it stopped seeing the drive again.
Turned on anonymous share again and all is well.
Maybe that's the way it's supposed to work but pretty sure on the dlink I just typed in the address and name of the drive and it was good to go.
I can add the drives and see them on every computer on my network so far so happy and all is right with the world again.
I have noticed this new Asus router can get messed up when you start trying different settings to see what happens. I stopped seeing my TCL Roku TV and it couldn't log into the network anymore. It would connect but then say no internet connection. I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out what I messed up and finally factory reset it
the next day and reset my passwords again. After that the TV connected quickly to the network and the internet connection was good. I have no clue what I did or what got scrambled but that fixed that problem.
I'm not a network expert but usually I can figure things out with a little search as needed but couldn't find anything about this problem, hope this helps someone down the road.
