Connecting windows 10 on laptop to a wired ethernet connection
I have an older HP Pavilion laptop with and i7 Intel processor, I was going to try to run the updates so I could get it up to date and it seemed like the wireless connection even though it's a good wireless connection was taking forever to download the updates. So I plugged an ethernet cable into the laptop and into an ethernet port in my house that I know is working.
Apparently the laptop has to be configured so that it uses the wired connection when there's a wire connected to it and when there is no wire it uses the Wi-Fi. I there any tutorials on here that show exactly how to set up a laptop so that it will accept a hardwire ethernet cable when plugged in and when not use the Wi-Fi?
I appreciate all replies in advance if I don't reply right away it's because I'm out blowing snow
