VLC and Soda Player not working with Chromecast on new laptop

    Weird problem.

I just got a new laptop and I installed a copy of W10 downloaded from Microsoft to avoid the suspicious software of the chinese brand TECLAST. When I installed it, the sound didn't work until I found an old driver of Realtek. So this might have driver issues. It's got an Intel Core i5-8259U and Iris Plus Graphics 655, not that it is real crap, it's a 600€ laptop with decent hardware.

So Chromecast works fine when I send any web page from Chrome or anything from the phone or tablet, but doesn't work when I send from VLC or Soda Player, a very usual way for me to watch movies on TV so I do it all the time, send from the laptop to the TV.

We have two Chromecasts in two rooms, versions 1 and 2, and the problem is in both, so it has to be something with the software or permissions or firewall only for those two applications and only in this new laptop with driver issues.

    Any suggestion?

. . . this new laptop with driver issues.

[1] Have a look in Device Manager, are there ANY Yellow Triangles?
[2] Have you looked at the options in VLC > Preferences [Advanced]?
    [3] Have a look at these . . .

Thanks @Paul Black I'll check that out

Well, it was the Firewall. Now it works after disabling it.

The problem now is I disabled 3 networks, private, public and dominium.

What do I have to fix then if it was affecting both VLC and Soda Player (I use Soda mainly as it is much more stable)

    Suggestions?

    *SOLVED THANKS!
