One computer is not visible in the network icon

I have 4 computers running Win10 on my home LAN. I have network file sharing enabled on each computer.
All the computers can see each other's network shares, except for one machine that's doesn't show in the "Network" icon from anywhere, not even when locally clicking on the "Network" icon. The other 3 computers have their own names in the network icon showing up. If I type \\hostname , I can access the shares on the broken machine just fine. I would like to be able to use the mouse, though.

I have tried every method at FIX: Windows 10 Network Computers Not Showing in Explorer. (Solved) - wintips.org - Windows Tips & How-tos except enabling SMB 1.0/CIFS support, as I think it's a security issue. None of the 4 computers have this enabled, and 3 of them can see each other's shares just fine in the GUI.

I'm using a wired Ethernet connection on all the computers. The network profile is set to Private on each one.

    Hi,

Verify the state of the following services on the "missing" computer.

    - Function Discovery Provider Host
    - Function Discovery Resource Publication
    - SSDP Discovery
    - UPnP Device Host

I have that problem with one particular machine and have not been able to determine why it loses visibility.

When it disappears running this command from an elevated command prompt and rebooting always restores it, until it goes missing again. The command is "netcfg -d". It is completely safe and resets the network connections, all of which are restored at boot up without the need for user interaction.

I have already tried that. It was step 2 of the page I had linked in my OP.

I tried the netcfg -d command and rebooted. Unfortunately, it did not fix my problem.

I think my issue is a different one than yours, though. It is systematic. There is no time that it ever shows up in the "Network" icon, not locally or from any other machine.

BTW, I tried temporarily disabling the Defender firewall, and that also didn't fix the issue.

I have too refrained to install SMB1 and I have very slow / incomplete Network discovery outside my domain. I try to use Mappings and direct link as much as possible. Although It does not seems to affect multimedia sharing servers / client, But sometimes I see only the Domain computers and other I can also see the different workgroups and their computers on the network.

My domain Master browser is on the DC. And I never understood what was up with that. I can see frequent MB election refused on my DC. but that should make client use my MB instead and make machines viewable on the network. but it does not always works.

FYI, there is no domain controller on my network. Two of the computers are in the same room, on the same network switch. I haven't setup any workgroup.

Well, all computers need to be in the same Workgroup,, and have NetBios over TCP enabled. Besides that you have pretty much covered it.

I'll take a look, but I think I left the workgroup as the default.

Even if they aren't all on the same one, I don't see why the system doesn't at least see itself in the network folder when logged in locally.

I just did. I tried everything except the SMB 1.0 for security reasons. Nothing worked, unfortunately.
