    I Need Network Drivers

I re-installed Windows 10 on my HP x360. Actually I did the re-install more than once with different media just to be sure I wasn't missing anything. The installation doesn't have network drivers. So, I went to the HP site and downloaded the driver files to an Asus laptop that I have. But, when I tried to copy the files to the X360, I got a message about not being able to copy the files except without file properties. So, the files wouldn't work. Any idea about how to get network drivers on my x360?

When you reinstalled Windows was it connected to the Internet/Router via Ethernet cable? The install has basic support for Internet and usually picks up any necessary drivers, at least basic for getting more software such as updates.

Thanks for your reply! No it was not connected to the Internet. I think I have a solution. I have one of those gadgets the plugs in to a USB port on one end and plugs into an ethernet port on the other end. So, I should be able to download drivers directly to the new installation and eliminate the "middle man".

That message would normally only appear if you were copying an internet shortcut [.url file]. Omitting file properties should not affect the operation of any of the files.

When you say that they wouldn't work, what exactly were the symptoms of their failure?

I copy driver files between computers fairly often and I have not had any problems.

The only issue I've had with such a dongle [adapter] has been to assure a USB2 port was being used, supported by the BIOS. USB3 ports usually don't get loaded until the OS loads the drivers for it. Even newer Notebooks are coming with combination USB2/USB3 ports. I keep one with an 11" Notebook that doesn't have the NIC/Ethernet port.
