How do I enable DHCP (Miracast) on my Windows 10 PC with LAN?

Windows 10 desktop with a LAN connection, OS Build 19043.1348, Version 21H1.

I'm incredibly confused and bewildered, been trying this for hours and I can't get Miracast to work, no matter what I try.

I have all of the streaming settings enabled.

I'm able to right click media files, select "Cast To" and have it play on my Samsung Smart TV no problem.

I also have a Microsoft Wireless Display dongle which works with Miracast also.

However, no matter what I do, Windows 10 won't let me connect to a wireless display over LAN.

According to this, it should work, and I opened the correct TCP port inbound connection:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sur...infrastructure

According to NVIDIA, my display and graphics card are HDCP capable.

According to DirectX, I have Miracast enabled, but not HDCP.

On my Surface, I can connect to my Samsung TV no problem wirelessly. But on my desktop with LAN, I can't for some reason.

    What am I missing???

Thanks in advance for your help.

I appreciate your help, but even after completing this step, it still says this:

No matter what I do, it will not let me project to a wireless display.

    Following this guide:

2 Ways to Check If Your Windows 10 PC Supports Miracast

It says "Miracast: Available, no HDCP"

Thanks, although the steps talk about including wireless, that was my original question - isn't it possible to use Miracast on LAN?? I don't want to use Bluetooth or WiFi

Basic question: your desktop does have a WiFi adapter doesn't it? It needs to have a WiFi adapter that supports WiFi Direct.

No. Miracast does not connect over the LAN, it's wireless only, using WiFi Direct.

    Miracast requirements:

    • Graphics driver must support Windows Display Driver Model WDDM 1.3 with Miracast support
    • Wi-Fi driver must support Network Driver Interface Specification (NDIS) 6.30 and Wi-Fi Direct
    • Windows 8.1 or Windows 10

Really? Man, that's such a bummer. I was told it would work. Thanks or your help. My PC does not have WiFi.

An alternative to using Miracast would be an HDMI cable connection.

This seems to imply it would work: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sur...infrastructure - same link you posted. Sorry I couldn't help.

Right, I could do that, but I'm at my max number of monitors for my video card (I could use USB 3.0 to HDMI I'm sure) but also they're in completely different rooms.
