Unable to connect to Internet while in Safe Mode with Networking

Trying to remedy the scrolling problem with my Chrome browser by going into Safe Mode with Networking, but no WiFi networks appear when I do this. Why would this happen?

Hi, here is a basic checklist/ideas that may help. Please work through these and report what you see for each. Thanks.

Network In Safe Mode Not Working if above does not work. Several people got it working in this thread.

None of these worked to get internet access in safe mode with networking. Also, rebooting my pc and going into Chrome worked for a few seconds when scrolling but then went back to the way it’s been for the past week. Is there any way to roll back to a previous version without losing any files I downloaded?

Thank you very much for your reply.

Now, some information please. For each item listed (1-3), what did you observe and learn?

Unfortunately your reply says nothing about that.

If you look at the device manager, is a driver configured for your NIC?

    Thank you.

    Steve,

Safe mode only loads MS not third-party items.

Safe mode is very much a repair mode rather than a mode for continued use. But you mentioned "the past week".

Are you following some guidance that Chrome gave you? Perhaps they meant that Chrome had a mode of its own called its "Safe mode" and did not intend for you to boot into Windows' own Safe mode at all.

Reasonable assumption, but no, that was not suggested.

    1. That the troubleshooter cannot be run in Safe Mode with Networking
    2. WLAN was run and restarted it.
    3. The wireless protocol is indeed 802.11

Not sure what an NIC is.
