How to encrypt my cloud storage content?

    Hi,

I hope I'm writing in the correct section, apologies in advance if it's not the case.

I'm currently looking for a way to:

_ save my personal data to the cloud
_ having this data encrypted before it even leaves my computer so that it is sent already encrypted in the cloud

The idea is that, if my data stored in the cloud is disclosed for some reason, it's not a problem as it is encrypted and unreadable.

I already have a cloud storage plan with Tresorit, which I'm really happy with by the way. Tresorit prides itself to use end-to-end encryption but, for an additional protection and peace of mind, I want to encrypt it locally first: 2 encryptions are better than one.

Thank you in advance for the help,

Hi, you can't use built-in EFS encryption for this, so you would need to choose some form of 3rd party encryption tool.

Yes indeed: I started to investigate and stumbled upon Boxcryptor and Cryptomator. The latter seems better as it's Open Source: Cryptomator - Free Cloud Encryption for Dropbox & Co

Has anyone here some experience with these apps?
