It says 30 yet recently I started getting websites timed out all the time. So yeah, it's VERY unstable, which does kinda suck. Also thank you! :)

I'm probably one of the few here that have multiple ISP's. I host a wireless AP for Rise Narrowband (heheh) on my ham radio tower and in exchange get free 20x20 service. The bext thing about that (albeit free) is the extremely low ping times as I have fiber for that here.

    # 1 ISP - Rise Broadband

    Package:

    TX:
    20Mbit
    RX: 20Mbit
    IP's: 3 Statics
    Price: FREE
Ping Times (to Chicago from my QTH in North Central / Sandwich, Illinois): ~ 3-5ms which is kick ass for gaming baby.

    # 2 ISP - Comcast Xfinity Business Class

    Package:

    RX:
    100Mbit
    TX: 20MBit
    IP(s): 5 Static
    Price: $220.00 a month.
    Ping Times: ~12-15 or <

Priced too high? I say yes....although it is business and therefor can host my own servers w/o any BS.
Installation is free for Business accounts....thank you!

Will be getting 1GB Symmetrical within 3 months.

I feel bad for all the Residential users as I noticed they are dealing with more BS with Comcast and experience slower speeds, etc.

Where I live I'm surrounded by Fiber Optics just a few miles away but the Assumption Parish (County) Council only allows one cable provider in the Parish and they don't have Internet. So it's either AT&T or a Satellite. Out on the Lake where I took the pic of them still running Dial-Up, they couldn't get Satellite Internet before there were two way providers like Excede.

This is My UVerse 12.0 running better than usual. Technically I'm too far from the DSLAM and they want to drop Me down to 6.0 every few Months when they need to repair My service.

$60.00 a Month including ttl and destination fees etc.

Ok, I understand that maybe upload would be a bit lower, but why is it that with almost every setup, the upload is SO much worse than the download? Sorry if it's a stupid question.

Hi there. It's because most high-speed Internet connections, including cable modems and DSL, are asymmetric — they are designed to provide much better speed for downloading than uploading. Since most users spend much more time downloading than they do uploading, high speed Internet providers have designed their systems to give priority to downloading.

So would most allow increase of upload speed on request?

Also, that picture I posted of my speed was when I was at my grandmother's house. At my home, we have the exact same ISP and plan. The download speed is pretty much the same, but I realised home here the upload is like between 1-3 usually, whereas there it seems to be 10. We pay the exact same price too. Would it be a good idea to contact our ISP on this, or would there be other causes of the upload speed being so low?

I doubt you have much luck with them on both, unless the speed is less than what they guarantee. It depends on many factors. Quality of cable/wire, how far away you are to their equipment building, if there is any fibre optic cable involved, how many users are on that line, and more.
