Is that 1 Gb up and down FTTH? If that's the case, then it looks like you need a later version of ethernet controller driver, if plugged in and especially if you have a Realtek ethernet controller.

Yes, you are right, but it's capped by QOS and always in heavy uses. Connection is an Intel 1219-V

For me, it was just the upload that dropped, until I got a later Realtek ethernet driver, TMK.

That was when I was wondering why my upload looked low at Speedtest, IIRC.

I'm very happy with it since I got a MikroTik CCR2004-16G-2S+. a couple of Ubiquiti Wifi APs and killed all non GB switches. Everybody loves the upgrade so far.

I'm struggling trough the Vpn setup at the moment. But the responsiveness under load is incredible.

When I ran Speedtest, it wasn't busy with other traffic. So, I end up going by the max I see when it's mostly only packets related to the test.

Even when it's not busy it gives me like 80% of the maximum, if I disable QOS it goes right up to 1.1GB. But without QOS there's problems all over the place

I'm now wondering if it's possible to stop a lot of the packet loss with Halo, as of lately with QOS. With gaming, I hear that you're usually dealing with UDP. Even with the router apparently supporting QOS, don't know if that's even possible with UDP.

OTOH, with Halo Custom Edition, there's been someone who seems to be mentally ill, DDoS'ing regularly!

On PC Halo MCC, there seems to simply be wonky stuff going on, so it's often hard to play!

I'm not really in the gaming world. But Smaller MTU can minimize UDP loss... But it need a complete analysis to figure out the best. As smaller MTU will also slow down network altogether. If you have the same kind of behaviour with QOS disabled or even direct connection. You are probably suffering from something else. If your ping is fast you should remain in there. But Gaming networks have the Flakiest Stability I've ever seen in my life. lolll.

For me, it's often terrible. But I came across a Halo Custom Edition game play montage on YT where the rocket launcher seems to be working normally, even the rocket moving well enough away, but then suddenly gets a suicide, LOLLL I have never saw that when I was playing!

Loll yeah, since UDP works with no Ack, the smallest lag can result in the game having to make large change suddenly.
