Here is my speed. I currently have mobile internet (4G) since I moved to a house and lost my fiber connection. But I'm happy with the new connection.

Could be worse, but could be better considering the telephone exchange is about 400m away.

I was just curious, if the Broadband Speedchecker can detect my location, if Opera's VPN enabled:

Evidently, that's not the case, it just detects Opera's Autonomous System, or AS IP. I have no clue where Maidenhead might be...

On the other hand, location detection is pretty accurate without VPN:

Switched up my cable level, etc. to actually get more speed, etc. for less. But speed didn't change. Finally occurred to me this PC is going on 9 years old, and has a 100MBps lan! Looked into getting a gig speed add on card...then thought to check my routers lan speed...yup, you guessed it 100MBps. So rather then spend more$ getting new equipment, I had them put me back where I was, and returned their gateway. My bill went down $55 a month, lol. And I still have my same speed, which has always been good enough.

The gateway you returned is just a modem? Usually it's a modem-router combo.

    Fiber?

    Very nice.

Why is the upload speed a bit unbalanced? Did you check with your ISP?
