Oh yeah, I'd "settle" for that

Q: Do they guaranteee 1 GB?
A: Actually, the fine print says they deliver 940 download and 40 upload. They just call it "Gigabit!" But I had been paying for 300 Mbps and getting 350-360 before, so I didn't mind paying an additional $39 a month to get 840-940 when nobody else is around (the daytime) and 500-600 at night (when everybody else is around and using the Internet). Maybe that's why I work days?

I have got a fiber optic cable to my modem and I am getting around 160 Mbps for both downloads and uploads when my connection is tested to my ISP. Of course I get nowhere near that when doing real transfers to distant locations. Now my ISP is offering an upgrade for about 50% more $$$ to 1Gbps and I wonder if I would get any improvement other than when I test my connection to my ISP?
My local network is all 1Gbps it very nice to have.
My INTERNET speed is slowing down for few days. Suffering a lot.![]()
