930Mbps down / 110 Mbps up in reality, that FAST.com is weird, wonder if if got half the bandwidth from the pole, up to 32 users share 2500Mbps on FTTP you know>? I've a feeling I'm the first or one of the first FTTP in my pole/post code - just give it time!!!

The sad thing, I am hardwired and pay for 1200Mbps.
XFinity has been unable to find the problem. I would love to get 1200 Mbps

Do you have the Xfinity XB7 modem like I have?

All my computers with a 1000Mbps Ethernet port no matter how old get 900-950Mbps. My old laptop with a 100Mbps Ethernet port only gets about 90Mbps. You would need a computer with a 1500-2000 Mbps Ethernet port to be able to get 1200Mbps

BTW, with that same modem I get the following Wi-Fi speeds
    • Laptop with 802.11ac wifi = 300-400Mbps
    • Cellphone with 802.11ax wifi = 700-800Mbps

You probably won't notice much difference with the faster Internet for normal use. The only times it makes a difference for me is when I have to install/reinstall a game. For example to install GTA V I have to download more than 70GB. The last time I had to reinstall Windows 10 and all my games I think I used about 700GB that month. It still probably took a day or two to do all that. In the past it probably would have taken over a week to do the same thing.

I understand to get 1200, I must have the ability to run 1200, but I do have the ability to run 1000, so I should get 1000, Yes?

year and a half ago, before I left XFinity, I was paying for 250, and getting near 300. I am running hardwire, not WiFi, and have two ethernet connections in the work station. One of them won't activate, if I don't go to 1000, the other one will run at whatever speed I can get that makes it to the computer.

How would I test the modem to see if there is a problem with the modem?
