There are 2 options to use use the HP UEFI hardware diagnostics:

    1) Download and install on the computer
    2) Download and install on a flash drive

There is 1 option to install HP hardware diagnostics Windows.

If one of the above fail then try another option so that you can run one of the hardware tests.

For scannow commands please run this script: (it was written for windows 10 and has not yet been tested on Windows 8)
(if the script fails to run manual commands can be posted)

Tuneup_plus_log.bat Click here to go to the BSOD batch repository to download and run this batch file.

If the above fails to run try this script:

Tuneup.bat - Click here to go to the BSOD batch repository to download and run this batch file.

If this script fails to run too then manual commands can be posted.

Your installation seems corrupted beyon recongnition. Nearly everything you try fails. If you are not computer savy. You are probably heading for increasing frustrations. At this point your system needs a complete hardware diagnostic, (1) to make sure the system is good. And (2) will certainely need a clean Windows installation to recover functionality, if it is.

By doing these things I become "more" computer literate. I'd like to keep trying as I love learning. I'll see how I do with Zbooks direction before I give up Thank you for your reply, Denise :)

this was a little confusing. Are you saying there are 2 "types" of programs? (UEFI or HP PC Hardware Diagnostics)? I see them being both the same, just a bit confusing for me

If one of the above fail then try another option so that you can run one of the hardware tests.

    Ok, on this one :)

Ok on all the rest of the directions I will work on them, Denise

The HP UEFI hardware diagnostics can be:
    a) downloaded and installed on the computer
Then power on the computer and repetitively click F2 or F10 to run the software / firmware.

    b) downloaded and installed on a bootable flash drive that has some free space
Then power on the computer and repetitively click F9 > select the flash drive > run the software / firmware

Thanks zbook, ok, I'm going to try and run that again now just to make sure I did it right the first time Denise

It's working!! I didn't upload it right the first time!! I have options "fast test, quick test, extensive test, and main menu" I'm thinking Fast test, just to see if I get some other error code Then if that works, I'll take a pic. It's running now, wow, at least it's letting it run, yeehaw!!

Which of the three methods was / were used?
    a) HP UEFI hardware diagnostics installed on the computer
    b) HP UEFI hardware diagnostics installed on a flash drive
    c) HP Windows hardware diagnostics installed on the computer

Overnight please run: extensive > loop until error > the next day if it has made 2 or more loops click esc > run any component test as needed > take pictures > post images into this thread displaying the tests performed with results.

I ran it from USB Flashdrive so it's not installed on the computer, it just ran when I held down the fn key. Ok on the rest of your instructions. Denise

    Morning,

Extensive Test/Loop until error has been running 19 hours now, and only results I've seen are "Passed". Just wondering if it's going to ever show any errors. Been looking online for any info on whether or not to stop the program, can't find anything "yet" so I'll go ahead and post this.

Thanks again for all the help, Denise

EDIT: Ok, I did find to run the components test if I've found nothing with the extensive test. I'm going to try that zbook

trying to figure out how to get to LAN settings, as I was testing "components" and saw the message below in pic:

    Please post BIOS images.

Download and install HP Hardware Diagnostics Windows https://www.hp.com/us-en/campaigns/h.../pc-diags.html > click component tests >

wired networking > wired ping test, IRQ test, ROM test

wireless networking > wireless IRQ test, wireless ROM test

Post images or share links into this thread.

    Hi Zbook,

I'm done with this laptop, I just tried to upload drivers on this and it wouldn't even allow that so I'm done. I'm tired of trying, and it is way beyond what I am willing to work on, or learn. I'm drawing the line here.

Thanks to everyone who tried to help me. I did learn a lot, most of all, how much I don't know about computers and how much I don't care to learn Denise

For the next computer if Dell, HP, or Lenovo:

    a) install computer manufacturer hardware diagnostics (these make it easier to troubleshoot when there is failure to boot)

    b) use computer manufacturer upgrade software: (these make it easier to update BIOS and drivers)
For example HP: (one of these if applicable)

    HP support assistant
    HP softpaq download manager
    HP image assist

    c) make free backup images and save the backup images to another disk drive or the cloud:
Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect
Macrium Software | Reflect Free Edition

(backup images make it easier to return to a working computer for any one or more of these problems:

    corruption of the operating system
    corruption of the registry
    corruption of the component store
corruption of the drive file system
    malware
    ransomware
    failure to boot
    etc.)
