The Secret To Getting Bluetooth To Work

If anyone knows this, please enlighten me.

Over the past 15 years of using Bluetooth in various scenarios all I can say is that it has turned out, almost invariably to be a complete and utter pain in the backside.

It just doesn't work! 90% of the time - when I'm trying to transfer files anyway. I've had issues getting speakers to connect, jittery mice over the years, but recently I've been trying to share files back and forth between my Phone and a Tablet (both Android) devices and today I have acquired a new Apple device, wooooo...

Way to go Apple for supposedly making things really straightforward and intuitive.. not!

I don't know why but the past few efforts I have made to transfers files from my new Windows 10 PC just won't work! I can get devices to recognise each other and pair and all that, but when it comes to transferring a file it just will not do it!

I have managed this, I think to my PC from my phone a couple of times. But every time I try this I just end up sending the file over GMail in the end..

Basically I want to use design software on both my PC and my new iPad and want to be able to transfer files easily between the two devices. So Bluetooth was absolutely ZERO help again so I decided to try using the iCloud. I know this isn't the place for seeking help there, but I just wanted to say first of all I ended up with 1GB of my Mum's photos on my iCloud (because we are signed up to Family Sharing) for some reason and then in order to try using this method on the Windows side of of things I downloaded the iCloud app - and what can you do with that? Absolutely nothing! You can't even see what files or photos or whatever are there!

I swore I would never buy Apple again, but I went back because this new design software works only on Windows and IOS (no Android).

One thing about thing about bt is the version new version 5 is so much faster and has a greater range than others. If you have both devices on the same version it works great my watch and phone communicate with no problems over big distance they are on 5.1 older versions struggle

It's not a distance issue. I don't know what bluetooth versions I'm on not the latest ones I think.

So it turns out this issue is - Apple iOS doesn't support file transfer to and from any other operating system! Android and Windows - no issues there though.

On top of that there is also no way to upload files to the iCloud via Windows.

BASIC FUNCTIONALITY I was expecting to be there as standard and need is not there.

There might be third party apps on Windows I was advised by Apple, but why should I do that! There is probably some way to do this, maybe using Dropbox but this then means I can't transfer files between the two devices unless I have an internet connection.

Apple are shocking. I should have stayed determined never to go back to them. I'm considering sending this iPad back now.

EDIT - useless Apple support advisor. You can easily upload to the iCloud on the website from windows it turns out. He directed me to the website (after I downloaded the iCloud for windows app which turned out to be useless) and then told me there was no way to upload files from windows. There is! I'm doing it now!
