    sharing and permissions


    I need help so bad, been to other forums no one answers I bought new Dell PC and I cannot view my own files and folders on my external hard drive, it just tells me I don't have permissions, I have tried to grant access it just won't let me. ugg, Anyone????????? Oh I am new here I am Scott an avid computer guy but have run into a really big road block, I've never had this problem before..........................

    Welcome to the forums this is normal as the files will be owned by the user of the old pc even if the name is the same the SID wont be so you need to take ownership of folders we have a little tool that makes this simple
    Add Take Ownership to Context Menu in Windows 10
