Two Win10Pro vers 20xx computers, Ethernet LAN.
In compD (destination):
- password protected sharing is OFF
- shares give full control permission to Everyone.
CompS (source) UsernameS (standard account) can access compD (dest)
which also has UsenameS. CompS Explorer lists compD shares.
CompS (source) UsernameA (admin acct) is denied access to compD (dest)
which does not have UsernameA.
Why denial?
Is it possible that you are being denied access by NTFS file security rather than the share permissions? For the both the folder that is being shared as well as files and subfolders therein, what do the NTFS file permissions look like? Do they give access to everyone?
As a test, you could create a folder somewhere and make sure to set the NTFS security to everyone. Share it to everyone as well. Can you access that test share?
