    Wifi constantly dropping

Hello, I have a Lenovo Ideapad Z580 with the Intel Centrino Wireless N-2200 network adapter.
When my computer wakes up, it cannot find any wireless networks, but I found out that resetting the network adapters fixes the issue- until the computer goes back to sleep.
I recently found that in the properties of my network adapter, under power management, there is a box that is checked "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". I unchecked this box to try to fix my issue, but whenever my computer wakes up, wifi is not working, and i am unable to even see this option in the network adapter properties.
This issue started after some forced updates from windows.
There are no updates available for the network adapter.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hi, as a workaround you could schedule a task to run on resuming from sleep to run a bat file which disables then enables the adapter.

See option 4 for suitable commands:
How to Disable or Enable Network Adapter in Windows | Action1

Note: you refer to a forced update. Presumably you have Win 10 Home - by default updates are automatic. That's the product you bought. Had you bought Pro, you would have more control.

There are numerous ways of controlling Windows Update using 3rd party tools which have been repeatedly described here; in addition there are 2 tutorials, should you wish to take control.

Your laptop seems to be from around 2012 so will not be guaranteed to run Win 10.

Thanks for the response dalchina. When I go into the device manager to look at the adapter when it is not working it gives off an error code (code 10). I am not sure if this is helpful info. Any other ideas to get this adapter to work? Thanks everyone

The Code 10 error is one of several Device Manager error codes. It's generated when Device Manager can't start the hardware device, a situation usually caused by outdated or corrupted drivers. A device may also receive a Code 10 error if a driver generates an error that Device Manager doesn't understand.
    I suggest you
    a. note the version of the current driver
    b. download the last available driver for that device from Lenovo (site currently under maintenance) and install that.
disconnect the internet to ensure it's not replaced while you try it.
    c. If earlier than that in (a) you will have to stop Windows updating it (various tutorials applicable)

My current driver is the intel wireless-n 2200. It says version 15.12.0.8
When I am at the Lenovo website- that you linked, I only see wifi drivers available for windows 8 or XP
will either of these work? or do I need a driver for windows 10?
Also- not sure if its related but my Intel USB-IF xHCI USB Host Controller is not working (I don't think ever), and gives off a code 31.

    Thank you for your reply.

    1. Get the latest from Win 8 or 8.1 assuming it's appropriate for your O/S if it's a 64 bit one.
    2. What is the version number of that driver?

Intel USB-IF xHCI USB Host Controller
See if there's an appropriate driver for that on the site.

    This describes its function:
Edge E3300: Yellow exclamation mark on "USB IF xHCI USB Host Controller" in device manager-English Community

There are search results for that e.g.
