Getting 100mbps speed from 2.5gbe network card

Hi, I have a Windows 10 HP Pavilion 595-p0049. I am getting only 100mbps speed from my network card. I recently purchased a 2.5 gbe Realtek card it for my PC (already had a preinstalled 1gbe card, also from Realtek). The preinstalled card is getting 930mbps as tested on Speedtest, so my modem isn't an issue (I have a Cat6 cable). Both cards have their drivers updated to latest 2021 version from Realtek's website. I checked the Advanced family controller properties for the card, and there's a 2.5gbps Full Duplex option (however it's set to auto negotiation, as default).

The network card was attached to a PCIE x16 slot. I am currently out of options and I have looked up only, but nothing came up. I would be grateful to anybody who can help me with this.

Will attach screenshots below for troubleshooting assistance. I ran this command from powershell

Query - why leave on "Auto Negotiation" -- set it to FULL DUPLEX. 1 Gbps if that's the max but try the 2.5Gbps setting and see what happens. !!

I changed it to 2.5gbps full duplex but it's still 100mbps sadly

Here's also a pic of the NIC, it says PCIE X16 (this was an empty slot to which i connected the new 2.5gbe realtek card)

Yes, the router supports gigabit. I am getting gigabit speed with my inbuilt network card. I don't have duplex enabled, only auto negotiation.

In the bios there is not an option concerning the pcie x16 slot (s)?

Play around with the settings for this option if it is present.

You might be right, in the bios slot 1 says x1, but for hardware that slot has x16 attached (which my cable is connected to). Any suggestions what I can change/if I can change?

Download portable HWiNFO64. Launch it and close the small windows and leave the main one.On the left click on motherboard, on the right next to "PCI Express Version Supported:" see which version you have. This is to know how fast is the slot with x1 parameter.

Look at this table with X1 version PCIe 4.0 you have 2 go / s.

edit: You need at least pcie 1.1 and x1 to have 2 Gbit / s

This is what I see. It's not even giving 1gbps, only showing 100mbps
