Your settings say it's not connecting. What tells you it is?

Try Disconnect from the current WiFi connection then right click on it and click on Forget.
That should remove all remembered settings.

Now click on the Internet Access icon in the System Tray, click on the WiFi connection and make sure Connect Automatically is not checked then click on the WiFi connection and enter the access code to complete the connection. Once it connects and you verify the internet is working, reboot and see how it behaves.

Followed your well detailed steps (the exact style of help many request but seldom receive). The issue did not return. I will re-visit this topic in a few days and hope to mark it 'Resolved'. Thank you Ztruker!

Unfortunately the issue did not need a few days and has resurfaced. I must suspect now that a 'reboot' (I used Start > Power > Restart) is not exactly the same as a hard shutdown (and hours later) power on.

You have a Desktop, do you have an Ethernet connection or WiFi only?

What is the full model number of the AMI motherboard? Check the AMI web site to see if there is an updated WiFi driver.

    Search results for: wifi drivers
