    XAMPP (Apache,MySQL,PHP web server)


    Hi folks
    Anybody tried installing XAMPP for using as a Web server (can also install things like word press etc on it).

    I usually don't like integrated packages but there's so many different versions of perl, php with their own versions of associated libraries etc out there currently that installing a web server "classically" (e.g on Windows - WAMP or on Linux LAMP) just gets horrendously messy.

    Be glad if people have any decent results with this and if performance is OK too.

    Yes. I was playing with this and wp and joomla and it worked perfect.
    It was several years ago but I perhaps it works still today too.
