only partial connection to wireless display

I have a fairly new 70 inch Samsung smart TV that operates wirelessly. I was hoping to watch dvds by playing them on my desktop pc and projecting them to the smart TV. I am able to wirelessly project from my laptop (which has no dvd drive) to the TV, but when I try to do the same thing from my desktop pc I only get "partial" connection. It shows that the TV is connected in the control panel, and I can hear the audio from my pc playing from the TV, but I only see my desktop screen on the TV, not the actual movie or video file that is playing, or anything else for that matter. No matter what window I open up on my desktop pc that is projecting to the TV, the TV just shows my desktop screen. Any suggestions on what I can try?

Windows Version number 2OH2 (OS Build 19042.867)

    Thanks!

I spent a while investigating this for you and came up with a few options that may be able to help . . .

    [1] Have a look at this . . .

    > SAMSUNG - Product Support

    [2] I think mirroring PC screen to Smart TV requires Miracast [ Needs supported Wi-Fi Adapter/ Card ] . . .

    > How to Connect to a Wireless Display with Miracast in Windows 10

[4] Check to see if your PC supports Miracast . . .

    > How To Check If My Windows 10 PC Supports Miracast

[5] You could cast with Google Chrome . . .

    > Using Google Chromecast to Stream Media from Local PC to TV on W10

    I hope this helps.
