I would use Samsung Printer Diagnostics https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c05808585
Normally this will find and install the specific drivers/software for the device, Windows 10 normally just looks at it blankly!
I have just fixed a recurring problem with randomly getting no printing!! so I've disabled WSD in the printer firmware, no more random disconnects.
WSD is a Windows 10 auto discovery for printing but has a habit of randomly deciding what your supposed to print to!

thank you. one of the issues I am having on the new pc is that the pc will not let me install ANYTHING I download even if I turn off all protections. it is super annoying

Perhaps you may need to post in the General Windows section to sort out permissions issues with your windows 10 install.
Once that is sorted the rest will run properly then.
Which version of Windows are you running? home / pro? etc

Note: for US users, the HP us-en page is a more appropriate link. I couldn't get the UK link to work, but was easily able to find (and use) this US replacement URL: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05808585

PS: I also learned how out-of-date my 6-year-old but still capable Samsung ML-2850 monochrome laser printer really is. Have to laugh! The equipment lasts MUCH longer than the supporting diagnostics and troubleshooting technology.

thanks, I just enabled the admin logon and that seems to have fixed things for now. I was not able to get to her office yesterday, likely will end up being next week as now I am back at work :) will report back!
