    Tuxera

ish4d0w, and anyone else following this thread: I have Tuxera installed to make my Macs NTFS-capable. However, it doesn't change the aforementioned 'misbehavior' of the Arris router's USB function. Sure seems like a reasonable customer request: plug a USB device into the router, and it will function as a fully cross-platform read/write drive.

I would happily change out this router/gateway for something that DID work that way...if I knew how to verify that it REALLY does, as a precondition of purchase. Over the years, I've seen my share of pre-purchase tech support reps who, when unsure how to answer, tend to respond, "It's ok". We all know where that path leads.

ish4d0w, thanks for all of your contributions to this thread - I've learned quite a bit from you.

I failed to mention in my response that my Router has the USB port but I haven't used it, preferred to connect my 2 NAS drives via Ethernet cable. Any computer that can access the Network can have the Public folders on each drive Mapped, whether Linux, Windows or Mac.
