Some have used a bat file scheduled to run at log on such as the attached - but I believe this is normally to combat the delay which can occur if SMB1 is enabled and is not needed if all is Win 10 (other than some NAS devices).

Share Files and Folders Over a Network in Windows 10

    - note the additional caveat added by Brink on my suggestion:
OK last test, i remove SMB

this is how it is now (when i have the issues):

Nothing, same story, when the PC comes back after the restart, i can only see the "other" laptop connected, and now i have SMB completely disabled.

I left the PC on now for 5 minutes and still no PC.

net view has a new error now lol

net viewSystem error 1231 has occurred.

If i do the stop and start for this one, again it works immediately and my PC suddenly appears in the network list.

as i said earlier the other PC can see my pc instead, which is super odd.

Do you guys know how to remove that "trigger start" perhaps that's it. thanks!

    Thank you for your reply.

You could try running one of the scripts I posted, however I suspect you have some other issue.

On win10 side... i am connected via a usb-c hub, that has the ethernet connection, etc so it's a bit more "firewalled" in that sense...perhaps.........
Regarding firewall, make sure you have at a minimum predefined rules for:

    1. File and printer sharing
    2. Network discovery
    3. Core networking

Don't try to make your own rules for this purpose, it won't work.

Make sure all network adapter items are checked, specifically IPv6 (not sure if it's relevant but may help)

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network and Sharing Center -> right click your net adapter

the last thing i want to know is if there's a way to remove "trigger start" from this service, since when i stop start it then the PC appears:

AFAIK, you can't remove "trigger start", this is predefined and only for your information to tell how service executable works internally.

your choices are automatic, manual or disabled. (automatic - delayed) helps to either wait for other resources or to postpone unimportant services.

restarting service is indeed a known workaround because it triggers "broadcasting" this PC to other computers. (but the opposite does not work)

ok thanks, just for the note after doing that, now it's in the list, it seems OK, earlier on it disappeared at some point when it appeared on its own. strange and stranger. but ok moving on, thanks!

You're welcome, who knows maybe it will work, maybe there are some tiny details similar to what dalchina said

You can test "promoting" trigger start by setting dependent services all to automatic, maybe this could change to plain "Automatic" IDK, just speculating...

it's so weird tho, once you stop/start that service it sticks. i just put the PC to standby and back and still there...

I have also suffered from this Windows problem that MS never seems to fix.
To fix it, when the machine would show up, I would map a network drive to the folder I would use. This became old so now, I just Pin that folder to the "Quick Access" area and I always have access to folders on that machine.

I created a folder called My Network on my desktop. It is located just to the right of Network.

My own PC in "network" sometimes does not show-2021_04_01_05_30_491.jpg

    It contains 3 shortcuts:
    \\DarkMatter
    \\EventHorizon
    \\Lightning

Most of the time all the computers show up in Network. Once in a while one of them does not. When that happens I just resort to using the shortcuts in the My Network folder.

Note, that sometimes the shortcut does not work even though I know the computer is turned on. I then realize the problem is that computer probably fell asleep.

If I want a computer to stay awake and not go to sleep I try to remember to run an app I have called Insomnia. As long as that app is running the computer will never go to sleep.
