    Routers without WiFi


    Hi everyone!

    I work at a small business and finally getting a fibre-optic connection after many decades of near dial-up speed internet. I love using access-points for WiFi as that's what I use at my house (Ubiquiti ac-pro the best i've ever had) and my cable modem router to manage my network beyond the access-point.

    To get to the point; are routers WITHOUT WiFi still a thing? I need a router with a WAN port to do what I plan for my networking (not a regular switch). Plus I want the access-point to throttle my own internet so my employees don't steal too much bandwidth (my fibre connection will be 50 Down and 50 Up) which my access point will do since employees will only use WiFi and not Ethernet.

    What's a good router without WiFi? I'm finding load balancing routers which I don't need and having an access-point and a router with built-in WiFi seems like a waste lol

    I haven't seen a Router lately that doesn't have Wireless capability but most should have as an option to not enable Wireless/Wi-Fi. I also have to start shopping for a new Router for 802.11ac or 802.11ax as I obtain newer Notebooks, have 3 now that are 802.11ac but my Router is 802.11n. I also need a non-Modem Router, not the combo Modem/Router version as I use a PoE Wireless DSL.

    Our local ISPs do provide them, either purchase or lease, and they do include the Modem with the Router except for 1 of the 2 firms that provide Wireless DSL Mine provides the PoE Modem leaving it up to me as to which way to go with the Router, don't know about the other firm yet.

    looks like this is exactly what i'm looking for and extra features too. I didn't realize how less common they are considering yes most IPs provide them or its an all-in-one.
