Wifi disconnects for a few seconds

I am having an issue with my HP Envy 17 j177nr laptop. When connected to the internet via wifi, I will lose connection for a few seconds. During this, I will have a "no" symbol over the globe in the taskbar. The laptop will connect back to the internet after 3 - 5 seconds. This happens 2 - 3 times a week. It does not do this more than once in a day, but is annoying when it just randomly disconnects just to reconnect after a few seconds.

Before anybody says that loss of internet for a few seconds is no big deal, it IS a big deal when 90% of the internet usage on this laptop is Final Fantasy XIV, an MMO. Frequent sudden loss of internet can land me penalties and having feature blocked on my account in the game—especially if I am in an instanced dungeon or something with other players.

It is ONLY the laptop that disconnects for a few seconds, all other devices including phones, tablets, other computers including other laptops, gaming consoles, ect all remain online 100% when my laptop disconnects for a few seconds.

I Googled the problem (searched what I named the topic title) but ONLY results pertaining to wifi disconnecting every few seconds came up, there was absolutely nothing regarding wifi disconnecting ONCE but only for a few seconds.

Does anybody know what the problem could be?
