    Odd Wifi issue

I ran 100' of cat 6 from the main house to a guest house that I'm renting and I setup a wifi modem/router. My desktop works fine on wifi but my laptop keeps dropping the signal, it's working, then a few seconds later it's not. If I click on connect and it comes back on for a few minutes. When I'm at a friends house it will get on the wifi and stay connected. What can I do to remedy this?

Does this happen whether the laptop is plugged in or just running on battery?

Thanks for your help, yes, either way the wifi goes in and out. What do you think about range extenders?

If you already have all bars, then the signal is already strong. Maybe switch to another channel or between 5G and lower
