Internet works, but the toolbar indicator shows it is not

    Thank you but I do not think any changes do DNS would be a good idea as my DNS settings always have worked well.

    Well, in some cases yes, but Internet Service Provider imposes DNS in the internet settings .

    It happened in an unknown way, I suppose during on of the Windows updates.
    Windows 10 2004 has this bug. I experienced it myself when I installed Windows 10 on my SSD for the first time. I did some Googling & I found the solution. Windows 10 has virtually no QA/QC besides Insiders, so updates tend to be really buggy. Anyway, I'm glad I could help you! :)
