Getting Default Gateway Not Available error every few hours

Hi,

I have been getting this "Default Gateway Not Available" error ever since I got a new router. The interesting thing is that this only happens to my main laptop, and none of my other devices such as my phone and old laptop. It also never happen when I play online multiplayer games. I tried several things listed in Google searches such as network reset, IP flushing, update and roll back drivers, disable power management etc to no avail. My Windows 10 version is 1909. hi, there are 4 possibilities that I am aware of:

1. network interference
2. somebody is disconnecting you
3. driver issue
4. NAT options

1. to work around point 1, run following command in an elevated prompt:

netsh wlan show networks mode=bssid

From the output you want to make sure the channel is at least 2 channels away from other available networks (if there are other networks around you)

The channel is changed in the router by logging to router, ex browse to 192.168.1.1 in your browser
If the amount of networks around you is large so that you can't avoid single channel, try changing frequency or see if there is an option to increase amount of beacons, (broadcast packets).

2. to workaround point 2, reset router to factory settings, you'll find a tinny hole on you router, use a toothpick to push the button in that hole which is used to reset the router.

Default username/password and WI-FI password should be on the sticker that is on the router.
First thing you want to do is change both the router and WI-FI password so that each one is unique and complex ex:
min 3 of each: numbers, capital and small letters, symbols = min 12 chars password length.

3. to work around point 3, make sure you have latest WI-FI driver for your WI-FI card installed on problem computer downloaded from vendor site for that card.
First thing to do is to set the card to maximum performance, at least for troubleshooting purposes.

4. For point 4 see in your router setting if there are NAT options, for gaming you want "cone" setting instead of any flavors of "symetric" for best performance.
