WOL feature not working, even with relevant settings enabled

Relevant settings I know of are:

Wake on PCIE/PCI is enabled in the UEFI, and the relevant power management features, and magic packet settings are all enabled. Fast startup is also disabled, as I dual-boot with Linux.

The app I'm using to send the magic packet is called "Unified Remote" where a server is installed in Windows for remote control via android on the same LAN. The app also sends a magic packet for WOL.

The app works perfectly, except for the WOL feature. it just doesn't wake the computer from sleep. I've tried other apps, and they've all failed too.

Everything I've found online to this point says it should just work with these settings, so I'm stumped. Need more information? I'll give whatever I can to help figure this out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also confirm that device is able to wake your PC (see powercfg command).

Here ya go. Top item listed in the powercfg command is the correct device.

Looks fine.. and you say you've enabled it in 'BIOS'/UEFI..

Is there a specific download for your MOBO/PC to enable the feature? I just found this for my Thinkpad t440s:

WakeMeOnLan - Turn on computers on your network with Wake-on-LAN packet

Offers simple options for manual configuration.. I had to change the IP range for it to detect my other PC on a scan..

Here's what worked for me waking my t440s:
- Install Lenovo utility (not sure if that was necessary as waking only configured and working after it had been installed)
- Check UEFI/Device manager settings- nothing needed to be changed.
- Scan for device on other PC using Wakemeonlan

- ** set number of packets sent to 3 (1 didn't seem to work).

I noted that whilst the power button and Fn key illumination changed when woken, the screen remained dark.

Note this normally only works when the device to be woken
a. is powered
b. uses ethernet

Obscurely double clicking the device shown online tries to establish a remote connection.

i tried WakeMeOnLan but that didn't work either. when the computer was sleeping, it said the computer was OFF, but i did check to make sure that the ethernet link was blinking (it was). i used my phone to take a picture of the setting in the UEFI, so you can see it is enabled.

I've used this feature on other computers before, so I know how it works. Just trying to figure out why it's not working. As far as I know, there is no extra download needed for this feature on my computer.

Have you used the program to scan for the appropriate ip and mac addresses?

Please confirm your target PC is using an ethernet connection.

it is using an ethernet connection. I have a wi-fi adapter installed, but it only gets used, if the computer is moved to a different location (Say, when spending a weekend at a friend's).

the IP, and MAC addresses are correct. the IP is a static IP that I set months ago... WakeMeOnLan does show the computer, and when it's on, the computer shows as green (On). When sleeping, it shows as red (off), so this shows that it correctly sees the machine, even if it won't wake it.

Perhaps try searching for anyone with similar experience with that particular model if the Windows settings are nominal.

yup. I set it to 3, like you suggested. I've googled this a few times, and mostly i just come up with solutions that worked for them, but not me, or they never came back and said what worked for them, so i have no idea of the outcome.

I'll keep looking, and hope to get some help here too. :)

In Windows 10, the default shutdown behavior puts the system into the hybrid shutdown (also known as Fast Startup) state (S4). And all devices are put into D3. In this scenario, WOL from S4 or S5 is unsupported.
