Ethernet Adapter Problem with my Mom's Desktop Computer

The Ethernet Adapter on my mother's Acer Aspire AXC-603G-UW12 Desktop is always malfunctioning for at least once a day. I have to go in, run the troubleshooter to get it to connect to the internet again. This computer is hardwired to the modem via Ethernet. I have attached a screenshot of what the end results say after the troubleshooter is ran but that is the same message I get after running from each day. I would say it has been going since we got our new CenturyLink Modem which was in November 2020.

Can you please perform the following . . .

Check for ANY Problem Device Errors

[1] Click on this TenForums link => Batch Scripts / Programs.
[2] Click the direct download link Find_ANY_Problem_Devices.bat in the MENU.
    [3] Run the .bat file.

    • If you want detailed information about the .bat file then scroll down the thread until you get to the relevant section.

    If there are NO ERRORS:

You will receive the message NO PROBLEM DEVICES WERE FOUND!, and NO log file is created on the Desktop.

    If there are ERRORS:

There will be a Prob_Devices.log file created on the Desktop.

    EITHER:

Copy & Paste the results into your post using the [CODE] tags . . .

[1] Open the Prob_Devices.log file in Notepad.
[2] Press the Ctrl + A keys together.
[3] Press the Ctrl + C keys together.
[4] In your post, click the Hashtag icon #.
[5] Click INSIDE the [CODE]Here[CODE] tags and press the Ctrl + V keys together.

    • In your post it will look like this . . .

    Code:

    <<< Results Here >>>

    OR:

UPLOAD the file => How to Upload and Post Screenshots and Files at Ten Forums.

    I hope this helps.

    @Paul Black: Prob_Devices.log

It has something to do with the Intel Trusted Execution Engine.

    Prob_Devices.log

First we need to examine the ERROR in more detail . . .

    Investigation / Solution:

    EITHER:

Look at the Prob_Devices.log file on the Desktop for the Device [ Device Instant Path ], PNP Device ID [ Plug and Play ], and Error Code descriptions.

    OR:

    [1] Goto Device Manager.
    [2] Expand the Problem Device.
[3] Right-click the Problem Device and select Properties.
    [4] Select the Details tab.
[5] Click the Property dropdown menu.
    [6] Select Hardware IDs.

    • If the Value includes VEN_ and DEV_ [ PCI device ], OR, the Value includes VID_ and PID_ [ USB device ], then make a note of the four numbers after them.
    • If the Value does NOT include ANY of the above descriptions, then investigate on the WHOLE string first.

[7] From the Property dropdown menu, also select Problem Code.

All the above information will allow you to better investigate and resolve the ERROR.

Additionally, here is a comprehensive list [ Intel ] of the the different manufacturers support websites.

    I hope this helps!

    @Paul Black:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE

    Problem Code: 0000000A

    Hardware ID's: VEN - 8086 and DEV - 0F18

    - - - Updated - - -

Also, Acer has not updated any drivers for this product since Windows 10 was released. They said that Windows 10 would automatically install the correct drivers after you have upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10 pretty much and left customers with this computer in the cold.

[1] Check if there is a BIOS update.
[2] Check for ANY updated drivers, specifically Chipset => Acer Customer Support.

    I hope this helps!

@Paul Black: This is an Acer. It's not an HP. It's my mom's computer and they haven't released any new BIOS updates for it.

Update: I uninstalled the problematic driver and reinstalled it. That fixed the issue.
