bluetooth? how to play a song or video from PC to phone and vice versa

I dont have a clue. I was able to pair a note 8 to a win10 pc, what next?

I unplugged the bluetooth. I tried to download send a 50mb mpg file to the phone from PC, went away, opened phone screen and it was 83% after an hour. Then another 10 minutes and it said transfer failed. Do people really put up with bluetooth?
No doubt the bluetooth dongle i have is garbage, i am sure the phone has decent bluetooth.
Dongle is v4 and phone is v5, but honestly i never had good results with bluetooth except for mice, keyboards, and a game controller.

I know bluetooth in car-trucks works to play songs on the radio very well from a phone and it was not too complicated.

    Hi there
Don't even THINK of using blutooth for things like file transfer -if you need to transfer files from computer to phone or the otherway around just use things like ssh or on phone things like ez-file explorer or whatever if you can't connect phone to computer.

Bluetooth is fine for audio / wireless speakers etc - blu tooth headphones can be very good -- You'll get higher quality via Internet than blu tooth but when using basically consumer grade gear you won't be able to notice much difference.

The easiest way of playing audio from a computer to a phone is to use VLC on the phone - browse to file on the PC from the VLC app (it has browse LAN facility) and play it. Then you can set the phone to pair with headphones/ speakers or whatever.

Note - enable sharing on the PC so you can access the file from the phone. You don't need any server type software on the PC. VLC has browse LAN capability. Then phone accesses file at LAN / Wifi speed --infinitely faster than blu tooth and then your only task now is to root the audio to your speakers, or headphones if not using the phone's (usually horrible) speaker. Setting the phones blutooth connection you can then pair with appropriate device

If you have "Dumb speakers" and can't connect your phone physically to those i.e no blu tooth get a blutooth xmitter receiver - and then the blu tooth will go from your phone to the xmit/receive device and then there's usually standard optical / analog out which you can plug into speakers --those devices are very cheap if you need to use them.

    Cheers
