Music Library Not Sharing

So, I'm trying to access my music library / collection on my laptop from my Xbox 360 and Xbox One, but oddly enough, my music library won't let me share it.



When I try to do it through the homegroup settings, when I select the music library from "not shared" to "shared", it tries to apply the setting, but then fails. All the other sharing options work though, pictures, videos, documents and printers.

It kind of worked when I was on Windows 7, even though I had to restart the WMP network sharing, UPnP, and SSDP Discovery services. I've also tried that, but no success.

If anyone has an idea of what to do, that'd be awesome. I'd really love to have this back to working, instead of using my phone as a kind of half working DLNA server.

Did you try using regular Network sharing vs. Home Group? Also did you go into WMP and re-scan the Library's? Also did you turn off and back on Media Sharing Options?

I made sure that I had the media streaming options enabled, and I do. Even when making a new homegroup, the music library will not share. I also did a library restore in WMP, still nothing.



After creating a homegroup, when I try to set up the music library to be shared, when I hit apply, it doesn't give me any errors, but just end s up not applying and reverts that option back to not shared.

I also double checked my Windows Firewall settings, all my incoming / outgoing connections for the WMP network sharing service are enabled.
