    What about OpenVPN?
I've never managed to get it to install and work correctly.

TAP installer failed on Windows 10 - OpenVPN Support Forum

On another note Split Tunelling works for me:

As for VPN Killswitch. Why would you worry unless you are doing something illegal like maybe streaming (copyright protected) movies for free?

In any case I use free Comodo Firewall set up as a VPN Killswitch.

I use Surfshark, and my speeds generally run at around 90-100Mbps, my connection is 100Mbps. It also depends on your location and choice of servers. I had Nord, and it was the slowest out of three vpns for me. I used PIA for 10 years, they changed owners and my speeds dropped to 60Mbps. Surfshark

I too had been happy with PIA for several years. Recently my speed dropped by a factor of 10 [e.g. ~200Mbps to ~25Mbps]. Either here or in another forum (Reddit?) I read PIA changed owners, and guessed that's why their support staff wasn't as helpful as they used to be.

Tired of comparing VPN recommendations I turned on Norton's VPN, which is working very nicely, but lacks features I'm used to. When checked, I saw I had WebRTC leaks and can't turn off IPv6 with Norton's VPN.

It's easy enough to do within my system, but am warned it could adversely affect some programs/processes.

For now I'm sticking with Norton and IPv6.
    The future: TBD

    Are VPNs Illegal?

Streaming region locked content for example.

    Hi there
This is always a "Mute point" -- however if you connect to VPN in "Country ZZ then the laws governing over what you can connect do are soley governed by "Country ZZ" since that's what's country the service you are connecting to thinks you are based in.

Think of it like this -- you work say in Switzerland / Lichtenstein -- so why should UK / USA or wherever charge you income or other taxes for income totally earned outside their jurisdiction and not imported into it.

The only possible hang here is that obviously your initial request to logon to the VPN has to originate from your home ISP - and they might (UK and N.Korea are probably the worst in this) restrict the use of "known VPN's".

For people in the UK I'd advise them to forget the major players like BT / SKY / VIRGIN / TALK/TALK but look at the smaller operators such as KCOM who don't tend to have high court judgements making them block loads of IP addresses and have even in relatively not favourable cities such as Kingston Upon Hull probably the fastest broadband speeds available in that country.

Whenever I'm in UK I use them-- nearly 1Gb/s is excellent for UK !!! (Also they don't block places like the ship flying the "jolly Roger" / skull and crossbones !! if you use those sites too. so you don't have to use Tor etc!!)
