Very slow iphone hot spot speeds.

Ok I realize this forum isn't for iphones and such . But im having a very odd problem , my hotspot speeds on my pc are very slow most I get is 2.5 mbps . Whats bizarre if I do a speed test with the hotspot enabled on the pc I get 47 mbps down and 4 up. But youtube and internet browsing is stuck at 1.5 mbps . so that leads me to believe its A setting or something on my pc. Main internet that is currently down do to broken line, is 45 mbps and my pc had no trouble getting that speed through Ethernet. Iphone is connected to the pc via usb wouldn't think that would cause any issues. any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    windows 10 64 bit Build 19042.

Its definitely a windows problem, I logged into my old ssd and the hotspot works much better on it. I was getting 25 mpbs to 45. My m.2 windows install is stuck at 2.5 mbps . no settings were changed on the phone. also both windows installs are the same build.

Boy this place is as helpful as the firefox forum..... lol

Anyway I did find out its something with firefox, if I use microsoft edge I don't have the problem... why firefox is doing that I have no idea, even tried to uninstall fire fox and reinstall it with no add ons. still same problem . I'm not getting any help from the firefox community forums. Soooo I guess I'll be using edge for them time being.

Don't iPhones and hot-spots use cellular service? I had a couple of clients that used Verizon hot-spots and sometimes were throttled by the cell service when things got busy, saw the same thing back in Dial-Up days and neighborhoods/zones after school was out for the day and kids home.

Yep it does use cell service. But on at@t elite plan you get 30 gb of hotspot data . That’s separate from your main cell data . Ive already used 75% of it and am about to get slowed down to 128 kbps. Thankfully frontier is supposed to fix the internet tomorrow. And I really hope they do. Can’t download some games off steam I wanT to play.
