Network Discovery & File Sharing refuse to stay ON

    Hi,

When I select Network Discovery and File Sharing as ON, and click 'Save Chages', here..
(Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings)

When I open the settings again (even immediately), the selection is back to OFF.

I even did a network reset, but the issue remained.

    Can anyone advise ? Thanks!

Any chance you have malwarebytes installed - I appreciate that it is not shown on your spec.
Or it could be the bug that has been reported on a number of occasions - before 20H2 but then seems to get fixed on a given version to then reappear on another version.

    Is the shared computer/s visible

I appreciate you have tried some possible solutions included on the link below, I suggest you check the settings

    under sharing services
Are you using at all a VPN sometimes when the VPN is then used the settings are reverted.

    Hi,

No, I don't have Malwarebytes installed.

I also followed the steps from the support link you suggested, but to no avail.

Actually all was fine until a day ago. This issue happened overnight.

Enabling Network discovery & file sharing (by any method) does not stick.
It promptly switches back to OFF.

    Thank you!

If you have tried ALL the steps in the link and in the drop arrows on the link
including the services etc and there is not even chance to see if the other computer/s are visible, due to it immediately resetting then - as you say it was all fine until a day ago
I suggest you check what was installed by way of updates etc - from it working to not working

You may also consider if you have one established trying another user account.
