AIsuite messed up, internet messed up,

I screwed something up big time when I went into BIOS...the shorter version: AIsuite3.exe gives me multiple termination windows, Chrome keeps telling me my connection is not secure, as well as a few other hiccups (Steam wont let me in).

I tried resetting CMOS,I had the local PC shop look it over. I attempted to uninstall AI suite 3, but cannot actually find it (found suite2, but it will not delete). I tried running the ASUS drivers disc to do a repair, but it just will not run in. I tried downloading it online, but because my Internet connection is screwed up, not much works....I can get online with Firefox, but that is about it. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome, cleared the Cache, etc.

I am ready to reformat and start anew, but I will lose a lot of stuff....it won't let me backup onto an external drive

System is homebuilt: ASUS Maximus 9, I7 7700K, 32 gigs RAM, Windows version 2004

Any insight will be greatly appreciated....next is a rebuild!

    See below for a suggestion.

It sounds as if you have not had any sort of backup plan. What would you have done had your disk failed? Not even for personal data, never mind the routine and regular use of disk imaging for your entire O/S as is so very very frequently recommended here - e.g. Macritum Reflect (free is good enough for many) + large enough external storage for image files.

When you have clean installed, plan this out before installing and configuring everything. Plan to keep as much personal data as you can off C: so it is not affected by restoring images, clean installs etc.

You won't lose data on ... partitions or drives other than C: if any.

Ensure you have any license details you need.

To rescue data to an external disk you can try booting your PC from a live boot disk. That's totally independent of your installed O/S. Thus you can read data from your internal disk and copy it to an external disk.

Win 10 live boot disks: Googe e.g.
    Kyhi's live boot disk
    Bob Omb's live boot disk

There are others including Linux live boot disks for free.

You download the iso file, then create a bootable flash drive using that iso (suitable methods are given in a tutorial here for creating a flash drive to install Win 10 for example).

Then configure your PC to boot from that drive, and you will get a GUI and a range of programs provided in that iso file.
