    OpenWRT vs DD-WRT


    Hey guys and gals,

    I currently have a Linksys WRT1900ACS and i'm not to thrilled about their stock firmware. I want more options. I've heard of Open and DD-WRT. . . What's the difference? Which one is the best? Are there any other custom firmwares besides those 2?

    DD-WRT is this most popular and supports lots of different routers. It has tons of options. Open WRT similarly has tons of options but doesn’t support as many routers and can be a little more difficult to setup. Ultimately it’s do you like Ford or Chevy? Another option that’s simpler is Tomato
