Lost network connection to QNAP NAS after Windows 10 upgrade

I am also experiencing an issue after the recent update. I have a Linux server on my home network that was showing up in the network neighborhood before the update, but after the update that server is not showing any more.

I can ping it and map drives just fine. I also enabled NetBIOS but that did no good. Windows firewall is off and I tried turning the Norton off too but that made no difference.

On the one hand It works because I can map the drive so that's good. I would like to be able to just browse my network and see the server.

Any suggestions?

The connections work fine after mapping them until I reboot my workstation. Then they fail consistently with the dreaded 0x80070035 error. I've set IP for NetBIOS over IP, flushed the DNS cache, I've checked hidden devices in the Device Manager for 6to4 network devices (none), turned off anti-virus and firewall, installed a new network card driver, and no change.
If I delete the mapped drives and set them up again they work fine until I reboot. I'm pulling out my last few hairs over this.

An update: Webdav using SSL works to access my IIS7 server even after a reboot. HOWEVER, after a reboot it always prompts me for sign in credentials the first time I access it no matter how many times I tell it to save the credentials. Hmmm... I'll post this in the QNAP forum at QNAP.com as well.

Launch Credential Manager and delete any related credentials in the generic key store (likely in Windows Credentials|Generic Credentials) then repeat the login process and see what you get

I tried this as well, no lucks.

Nope. I deleted the credentials related to both servers (yes, were WIndows credentials). I used the existing mapped drives, it asked for ID and password, and failed first time and every time for both devices. That's different than before because before I could connect to the IIS7 server if I entered the credentials the first time after rebooting. I'll try deleting the mapped drives and make sure the related credentials are removed again. Then I'll reboot, add the mapped drives to see what happens immediately and after another reboot.
Thanks for pointing me at the credentials manager, I've never used it before.

Okay, I deleted the mapped drives and related credentials. I rebooted, re-added the mapped drives to both the IIS7 and QNAP servers. Both worked perfectly. I rebooted and again and tried to access the two servers again. I'm back where I was originally with the QNAP server failing and the IIS7 server asking for credentials before connecting. Bottom line: no change from original problem.

Found this link Windows 7 Fixing The Mapped Drive Credentials Problem | The Gadget Grill and found it interesting. BUT, made no difference.

Couldn't get to the files on the NAS by wifi, found that the NAS had WORKGROUP other than WORKGROUP, actually it was set with my initials.
So I set the workgroup on the yoga to my initials, and hooray!
