[Query]Prevent WiFi disconnecting while laptop sleeping

Hi, hope everyone doing fine, can someone please tell me how do I prevent my WiFi getting disconnected when my laptop (Dell XPS 13 9380) goes to sleep? I don't see any power management option in my WiFi adapter settings.
My Win 10 version is 20H2 (OS Build 19042.630)

Sleep means that. The Bios places hardware into a state that saves power, which means that Wifi will not be connected until wakup.

This is only partly correct. Sone devicea support WOWLAN (Wake on Wireless LAN). Here the pc will remain connected albeit all it is doing is waiting for a signal to restart.

I think OP is saying their pc does not automatically reconnect upon waking from sleep which it should do.

Add that WOL can also be enabled or disabled in the BIOS.

Thanks for the clarification guys, my WiFi gets auto connected when I wake up the laptop from sleep. I wasn't aware that Bios puts the h/w into that state to save power, I do know now :) I will mark this thread as solved. Cheers!

Even with WLAN, the Bios is what triggers the device through the IRQ, not the software. When hardware is placed in a S0 state which is what modern devices go into, Hardware will not always respond to a WLAN, unless you have set the Bios to do so and made the device driver changes in Device Manager for that device. In S1 through S3, hardware like Wifi and Ethernet tend to go into a Green state and the Router/AP or switch may not respond to just waking up until you move the mouse or press a key on the keyboard.

Most likely the OP is expecting the wifi to just automatically wake it up no matter what, without understanding the process to have the system just shut down the monitor and stay up and operating.

Make sure that in the Device settings in Device Manager that the Wifi is set to wake it up and if you want to trigger the port to wake it up and do something, then go in and setup for WLAN.
