Network access problem after router change

Just switched from Virgin Media to BT and all is well apart from a problem with my home network, consisting of a desktop, a laptop, and a NAS. Desktop and laptop are both running Win 10.2004. The problem seems to be with name resolution when laptop tries to access shares on desktop and fails with Network Path Not Found. However access is fine by IP. Desktop can access laptop and NAS by name or IP. Turning firewalls off doesn't change anything.

The main issue for me is the laptop needs to map network drives on the desktop but this isn't possible until a solution is found.

Here's the IP configuration for each machine, desktop first -

Have realised I can map network drives using \\192.168.1.XX\Shared Folder name so immediate problem resolved. I would still like to do it by names though so I can expand Computer Name in Explorer\Network

Same issue here all 4 of my network computers. Windows Explorer will not show the network computers. Each computer can see itself only.
An Earlier work around still works: Create a folder on your desktop. Create short cuts to your other units in that folder. ie " \\Office" so I have this folder on each computers desktop and can connect any of them through these short cuts.
Just loaded 20H2 1904.630 and no changes yet.

If you can access via IP but not name NetBIOS is slow it's that which resolves names. From each PC ping the other PC's this often kicks it into life ideally keep one pc on all the time

Laptop can't ping desktop by name - requests timed out. Can ping by IP. This is consistent with Explorer responses.

You forgot to add the link

OK, think you mean NetBScanner. I'll try that tomorrow - too late here

Got around today to running NetBScanner on each of the three computers currently attached to the network. They are consistent in identifying the Master Browser and it turns out that that is the computer that is unable to connect to the other two - all other connections are ok. Where do I go next?
