Old netgear Netgear Rangemax WNDR3700 - can't login to browser admin

I have tried reseting the router to defaults (have done so before) but I cannot log into router admin page. I have tried conneted directly to my PC ethernet port, also daisy chaining the router with my superhub (cable modem/router). I can ping the router with its default 192.168.1.1 but admin/password fails.

I could not get it to reset but I eventually tried "admin" & my oldest password (which has been in several data breaches), and I could access. I updated the firmware and set it to WPA2 because virginmedia superhub was complaining it was insecure. The reason I tried to access it was because the hub could not reach the router. I can access the router from my mobile so I know the password. Hopefully sorted now.

Its just used as a repeater but its got cat 5e cable to it in the loft in my Mum's house instead of wireless. Obviously its using wireless to connect to the superhub and my mobile. The superhub's connectivity is very poor alone.
