Sharing video using SyncPlay and chat using discord Problem

    UPDATE - 2

need to find a way to run 2 instances of VLC player on the same PC but each having audio output to a different device, it’s in the settings, but just uses the windows audio device, if I can fix this then it’s sorted, any ideas ?

    UPDATE
may have found a simpler way.....on my PC I open two instances of SyncPlay, each in the same ‘Room’ Two VLC media player Windows will be created, on One I disable Video so that the audio will go to my headset....and the second audio and video will display and be mirrored to my TV......so far so good, but need the audio from each VLC player to go to a different device. I.e. One to the TV and the other to my headset....VLC has options to direct audio to different devices, but what ever I select, the audio from both goes to th device selected in windows.......not sure yet how to get this to work, so close yet so far

Hello, this far more complicated than I thought it would be.

I don’t think there is a solution, bit hope there is.

I currently use SyncPlay to watch video with my Son at a different location, also use discord to chat through headphones at the same time. I set the PC speaker output to headphones.

I now need to watch the video ( played on my & my Sons PC, simultaneously, on my Lounge TV, while being able to talk to him via a headset. To this end I have been exploring how to share the PC screen to my TV, having tried many options and failed, I bought a long hdmi cable and can now share the PC screen with my TV....BUT, the audio from the PC can only go to the TV OR headset to both, so I plugged the headset into the TV headphones out, but that cut out the TV speakers. But even if it didn’t do this, My Wife would hear my Son over the TV, having a conversation with me on the headset.

the only solution so far I can see, is to use a laptop, with SyncPlay and discord, with the output set to my headphones, so I would hear both video audio and my son. The PC would have SyncPlay running with the same same room as the laptop, with the audio set to the TV.....that way my Wife would only hear the video audio and I would hear both on my headset..

just seems a little OTT.....any better solutions would be appreciated.

sorry for the long story, but background info is needed to avoid solutions I have already tried.

    thanks

Ok, despite no replies, I have found a solution.....VLC media player can have two instances playing, one with video disabled and the other with video and audio.....fortunately I can change the audio device in VLC for each instance, allowing the audio from the audio only video to go to my headset and the other to the TV, so that’s solved.....only one remaining g problem, SyncPlay disconnects and reconnects at random intervals on MY PC only, so I suspect an internet problem ( Ethernet ) so going to try and find a monitoring program to see if the Sync play interruptions are caused by internet interruptions
