Often connection failures

Build 1909 (18363.1139)
Compelled to use McFee by ISP (JCOM).
It is usually no internet failures. Other wireless devices (Kindle Fire 8 HD) are fine and unaffected.

I tried Ping and got three results and then it closed. The three seemed OK.

What should I be first considering trying?
Also having trouble working out how to access administer which I thought already was.

So what exactly is failing?

I have WiFi router upstairs. The internet connection symbol go from a quarter circles to circle quarter with a negative symbol. I disconnect and then reconnect.

So it sounds like possible interference with the wireless signal, or a crowded wireless channel.

You'll need to look at your current wireless configuration on your router.

Before making any changes, write down or screenshot your current settings.

If you are using auto channel select, try using channel 1, 6, or 11 for 2.4 Ghz, and 124, 128, 132, 136, or 140 for 5 Ghz (Japan).

Using a WiFi analyzer can show you who is using what channels in your area, your signal strength, and your signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)...

Wireless Security should be using WPA2-Personal with AES encryption.

Select NG-Mixed for 2.4 Ghz and AC/N-Mixed for 5 Ghz if it's available on your router.

WMM should be turned on for both bands, and try the Beacon Interval at 100 and RTS Threshold at 2346.

Reboot the router and test your wireless connections.
