    Share not working anymore

    For years I've cross-mounted these two computers so that each can see the C: drive on the other.
    But now one direction is failing.
    Code:
                          COMPUTER A               COMPUTER B
                          ----------------------   ----------------------
    USER              --> Bonnie                   Bruce
    HOST              --> laptop                   DellDesktop
    IP                --> 192.168.1.226            192.168.1.137
    REMOTE C: MAPS AS --> P:                       Z:
    USER/PWD          --> Bonnie / <bonnie-pwd1>   Bruce  / <bruce-pwd1>
    USER/PWD          -->                          Bonnie / <bonnie-pwd2>
    Bonnie has accounts on both boxes ... but different passwords.

    = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

    From computer A ... I use this command to mount C: on computer B as drive P:
    net use P: \\192.168.1.137\c bruce-pwd1 /user:bruce /persistent:yes
    That no longer works. I get this error message:
    System error 1312 has occurred.
    A specified logon session does not exist. It may already have been terminated.

    I also tried Bonnie's user to connect. Same error.
    net use P: \\192.168.1.137\c bonnie-pwd1 /user:bonnie /persistent:yes

    = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

    From computer B ... I use this command to mount C: on computer A as drive Z:
    net use Z: \\192.168.1.226\c bonnie-pwd1 /user:Bonnie /persistent:yes

    This still works fine.

    Why? Perhaps because she got the 2004 update last week?
    How do I fix this?

    Wind blowing in the right direction, phase of moon in 2nd house, Jupiter aligned with Mars

    These disappearing problems make absolutely no sense. Are the shares Full Control/Change/Read or Read Only?
    Check the share setups again. This is how mine are setup.

    I don't have that screen. I'm sharing the C:\ drive ... and its properties panel does not have a "sharing" tab.

    @Ztruker: That just what I remember from the old days of Windows 7.
    But that not what I get on Windows 10 (1809) ...

    You never share drive c or any other disk if you give everyone rights all hackers and randomised can run amuck. Also windows doesn't like it as by default there is an admin share for all drives with a $ is c$ and that's what you should use

    I found the solution online at Sharing tab is missing in Windows 10 Folder Properties box.

    Look for this registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell Extensions\Blocked

    If it contains the value {f81e9010-6ea4-11ce-a7ff-00aa003ca9f6} then the sharing tab will not appear.

    Remove that registry value and restart explorer. Done.
