Many apps not able to connect to internet when updating

    Hi everyone,

A couple of months back my laptop stopped connecting to our wireless router, so I got around it by using my phone's mobile hotspot to connect to the WIFI.

Recently I've noticed that a couple of apps can't update and that they can't connect to the internet. Any thoughts on how to rectify this?

I've checked my firewall and intentionally added two of them to the list but no go. I realised my connection was set to metered so changed this to unmetered, and also made it private.

Hoping you can give me some guidance on how to figure this out :)

    Thanks!

I would check the Event Logs on the Windows side, and the router logs, for clues.

Thanks, I'll check the event logs as I'm now noticing that some software installations are hanging. As in I can see the icons on the tasbkar but nothing loads and it show as not responding in Task Manager. Seen this with three lately.

Any thoughts on where to dig would be appreciated. In the meantime I'll check the event logs and see what I can see.

    Right-click on the Start icon.

    Select Event Viewer.

    Expand Custom Views.

    Look in Administrative Events.
