Download Speed is very slow compared to available ISP Bandwidth
Windows 10 Pro 2004 (19041.423) - all updated
My ISP has a 56MB/s (poor I know) fibre line to our house.
Every other device connected via wifi or direct (Macbook, iPads, XBOX's, phones) get up to about 40-42 MB/s download which is fine. Very new router too; only 5 months old.
However, my recently upgraded PC is restricting my download to ~5MB/s which is killing me. It's a gaming PC so the downloads are huge and now take forever. This happens both wired and wireless 5G.
I've had this problem for about a month now. I've re-installed Windows from scratch onto a brand new HDD.
Watching loads of Youtube videos and reading all sorts of advice, I still can't get the speed up above this.
A short list of the main things I've done/checked;
- Ensured that the motherboard and network adapter has all the latest updates and set to 1GB/s mode
- Ensured that the Network settings in Win10 don't have any restrictions
- Ran TCP Optimizer from Speedguide
- Disabled Large send offload (both ipV4+6)
- Tried changing ports
- Rebooted router many times
- ISP confirms there is no throttling
I think I've tried everything and I'm at a dead end. Any help would be appreciated.
